The Gingerbread Cast

The Other Narrator, or TheO for short, is, not surprisingly, a narrator. He was in the middle of narrating a children's poem when he began interacting with members of the book. Everyone knows that the first rule of third person narration is to never insert yourself into the story, but TheO was never one to stop and think about consequences, and now he is stuck in the book world. Along with being a bit rash, TheO is also somewhat bossy. Although the thinks he knows a lot, he's really rather naive. |

A lovely spider, Rocky's real name is Arachne, but TheO insists on calling her Rocky, and she's given up trying to convince him otherwise and just accepted Rocky as a name. A vegetarian, Rocky/Arachne is a very unusual spider, even besides the fact that she can talk (which, when you think about the fact that she is essentially a children's book character is not quite as amazing as it seems). She tends to be sarcastic. Although she likes to complain that TheO dragged her against her will to join his quest, in reality her own insatiable curiosity would have compelled her to join him anyway. |

Not much seems to be known about Little Miss Muffet, or LMM, other than her apparent short attention span. TheO and Rocky are chasing her around the countryside, but she doesn't appear to stay in one place for very long. One would assume, from the original poem, that she's arachnophobic, but then again the books stories have all gone haywire, so even that is subject to doubt. |

Jasper is one of the Blind Mice. He is currently in the posession of the magical whistle used by the Pied Piper, though it has so far proven to be less than useful in procuring him any food. Jasper is generally laid back and takes things in stride, although that can change if food is involved in the equation, particularly cheese. Although Jasper can't see, his sense of smell and the extra-sensory perception from his whiskers allows him to move around with confidence and percieve the world around him with a startling amount of clarity. |
That's all the characters who have been introduced so far, but more will join the ranks shortly.
Did anyone else notice that all of the characters so far are generally called by something other than their actual name?
